Came across a blog post here that made me chuckle.
Some poor misguided soul posted a question on the Ubuntu forums about how to install that great anti-virus software called Ubuntu. He asked:
“A frient of mine heard of a program that will make you never get viruses again. Its called Ubuntu. I go to the [...]

I work beside a young guy who, for reasons best known to himself, enjoys playing rugby at the weekends. He’s a big bundle of fun and we get along great, but he’s not the maturest gent I’ve ever met.
He’s been talking for a few weeks about buying an iPhone, cos, you know, they’re cool, right? [...]

It may have escaped your notice for some inexplicable reason, but there’s been a little competition running recently regarding a certain world-renown style icon. Yes, I’m talking about Barbie.
Manufacturer Matel have been asking people to vote for Barbie’s next occupation. The voting has ended and the winners announced. This year Barbie is going to divide [...]

Dolly Parton has published a little video encouraging us to use Internet Explorer 8.
Despite not knowing “a gigabyte from a snake bite”, she enthuses about IE8’s web slices feature. (OK as a Firefox user, I had to Google to find out what web slices do. Apparently IE8 will notify you when a site you visit [...]

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Open Office mouse.
Is this open sourcery at its finest? An 18 button mouse designed for gaming and, well, OpenOffice. Apple recently launched their Magic Mouse with no visible buttons, but the Penguinistas had to go one (or in [...]

After cringing with embarrassment at Microsoft’s Launch Party video (though I did like some of the spoofs created in response), I’ve just come across another rather more, uh, authentic Windows launch video.
Unfortunately WordPress won’t let me embed the video, but go visit Funny or Die to watch.

Liked this post at Tech Source from Bohol. Seems there is an Ubuntu Cola, though it’s not affiliated in any way with Ubuntu Linux. It’s a Fair Trade cola made in the UK, though I’ve never actually seen it anywhere. (Visit their web site.)
And, would you believe it [no], there is a Microsoft cola too! [...]

Have you ever had one of those moments, perhaps while lying awake at 4am, when you ponder your mortality? As you lie tossing and turning between the sheets, you think about all the ways we fragile human beings can toddle off this mortal coil. Cancer, heart disease, AIDS, multi-car pile ups on the motorway, gigantic [...]
